A long time ago, in a newsroom far far away…

Allison Monette-Cordova began her journey in the world of marketing and communications in front of the camera. Soon after graduating from the University of San Diego, she took a news reporting job at KNDU-TV, the NBC affiliate in Tri-Cities, Washington.

Like many former journalists, Allison took her skills and passion for communications and transitioned to the other side of the camera, to help nonprofits and businesses thrive.

With a knack for storytelling, her journey evolved into managing marketing projects, branding campaigns and public relations events. Her experience spans nearly two decades working with clients in the nonprofit, education, government, entertainment and sports industries.

In 2022, Allison was named “40 Under 40” by Vegas INC and received an Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Pacific Southwest Chapter. Allison has also served as an adjunct professor at the UNLV Hank Greenspun School for Journalism and Media Studies.

She has received various PRSA Pinnacle Awards, Telly Awards, AMA Effie Awards, and other honors. Allison is a member of Junior League of Las Vegas and Latinas in Power. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two young daughters.

Allison is originally from Lima, Peru and immigrated to the US at age 12 with her family. She speaks Spanish and French. She is an advocate for supporting and mentoring college-bound students, who are also first in their family to pursue higher education.

  • Interviewing President Barack Obama

    2008 - Allison interviewed then candidate Barack Obama, on the campaign trail in Pendleton, OR.

  • One-Woman Band

    2009 - Allison credits her passion for storytelling, to her roots as a news reporter in Tri-Cities, WA. She recorded, edited, and wrote her own stories.

  • Fight On!

    2014 - Allison graduates from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, with a Masters of Communication Management degree.

  • Dessert Before Dinner

    2014 - Posing with Terry Fator, the headliner for the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada’s Dessert Before Dinner Gala. The PR team at Braintrust pulled a creative PR stunt that attracted local and national media for the event.

  • Las Ventanas

    2014 - A quick snap with Las Vegas legend Norm Clarke, after he served as our special guest and speaker, during a Lunch & Learn at Las Ventanas in Summerlin.

  • Home Again Nevada

    2014 - Managing PR efforts for former NV Attorney General Catherine Cortez-Masto, on the Home Again Nevada campaign.

  • In Studio

    2014 - Managing PR efforts for Cantina Laredo restaurant, during an in-studio live taste test of their famous guacamole.

    2014 - Managing reporters at a PR event for Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada.

    2014 - Managing PR for an event with United Way of Southern Nevada, including an appearance by Mayor Carolyn Goodman.

    2017 - Managing groundbreaking ceremonies for various CCSD new schools.

  • Celebrating Educators

    2018 - Celebrating former CCSD Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky for his incredible career and impact in our local schools.

  • Ugga Mugga

    2019 - Managing media and helping with the planning of one our community’s favorite family events, Vegas PBS’ Daniel Tiger’s Be My Neighbor Day.

  • Chef Hubert Keller

    2020 - Hosting Celebrity Chef Hubert Keller, for a series of pledge programs in promotion of his new cooking show on Vegas PBS.

  • Chef Marcus Samuelson

    2020 - Hosting Celebrity Chef Marcus Samuelson for a community event at Vegas PBS, in celebration of his new television series “No Passport Required”.

  • Covid-19 Remote Interviews

    2020 - Serving as spokesperson for Vegas PBS and doing remote interviews during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Vegas PBS received the Non-Profit of the Year Award in 2020, for their immediate response to community services during the pandemic.

  • Outdoor Nevada

    2021 - Welcoming and introducing special guests at the Outdoor Nevada Day Bike Ride. On this day, the beloved local show also received a proclamation from the state for its contributions to improving outdoor recreational activities in the state.

  • Bike Day

    2021 - The Outdoor Nevada Bike Day was held at Blue Diamond Park, in honor of the premiere of Outdoor Nevada Season 4. Guests included various elected officials and avid mountain bikers, including U.S. Representative Susie Lee.

  • Community Outreach

    2021 - Snapping a quick shot with the hard-working team behind the scenes of the Vegas PBS’ Daniel Tiger Be My Neighbor Day event.

  • 40 Under 40

    2022 - Allison is named “40 Under 40” in the 2022 Vegas INC list.

  • Emmy Award-Winner

    2022 - Allison receives an Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Pacific Southwest Chapter, for her work as Executive Producer in the limited digital series Ali: Las Vegas Legacy, on Vegas PBS.
